The Marquee Project is a personal, documentary photo project capturing three-dimensional signs in and around San Francisco.<\/em><\/p>\n

The Alhambra is the theater that UPSET me: I went to photograph it at night for a neon project, and realized… it no longer lights up!<\/p>\n

This theater on Polk Street has fanciful details. Minarets! Stars! Pastel colors!<\/p>\n

The neon on the main signboard is so delicate.<\/p>\n

The colors have faded gracefully, though the peeling paint makes me sad.<\/p>\n

These photos were taken with Lomo Color 400, and if I reshoot them, I’ll switch to Portra. There is better contrast without adjustment in Portra, especially for shadows.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
