Sunnyside Conservatory in Gold (False Color Infrared)

IR image of multi-sided building surrounded by lush gold foliage

My neighborhood contains treasures, and Sunnyside Conservatory is one of them.  The remnants of a private estate, the conservatory building (a sort of enclosed gazebo) is surrounded by a palm tree collection and attractive landscape plants from around the world.  And it’s just… on a busy street!  In a residential neighborhood!  Between normal houses!

I’ve visited this tiny oasis many times, and finally took false color infrared images of it in December 2025.  My dedicated digital infrared camera captured the scene in false colors (primarily pale blue for plants), and swapping the red and blue channels turns this glowing foliage to gold. That’s how I’ll present these here.

I love love love living in San Francisco, and having such lovely neighborhood parks!
