San Francisco Architecture Studies (Lomochrome Purple)

Chase Center architectural roof overhang detail with teal sky, diagonal corner, and hidden patio with columns

2025 was an excessively productive year for my analog film projects.  While I spent time testing new films and new-to-me vintage cameras, my steadiest experiment was exploring Lomochrome Purple for architectural detail work.  I have been steadily building a collection of images from this often reformulated film through several iterations (original, 2019, and 2021).  The film officially has an “extended” exposure range of ISO 100 – 400, and performs well for my architectural studies at ISO 200.

Color-shifted films are a bit odd: they aren’t ‘realistic,’ and their ‘artsy’ look is unlikely to be embraced by my straight-photo-preferring licensing agency.  I have been slow to lay out an art book of these images, but feel like I’ve been keeping my studies secret without reason… I decided to publish a set to my Lomohome, where they have been well-received.

You can see this first set from April 2025 here:

I am pleased with my progress, and plan to continue this series.
