I enjoy the finely detailed texture of the federal building that Morphosis designed, which stands across the street from the Ninth Circuit Court. I’ve photographed it with sepia peel apart film in my Land Camera, but also want it in black and white. A sharp, sunny morning gave me a chance to photograph it with Ilford XP2 Super 400, a contender for my new go-to film for delicate architectural subjects when I want lighter shadows.
This C-41 process film can DO dark shadows, but also captures details with a delicacy I like.
I appreciate the shine of the mesh, and the crispness of these images. This was the right film at the right time for this project! I’m quite pleased.
