Contemporary San Francisco in Black, White, and Gray

Looking at the amazing, rich, worn textures of the Mission District may give you the impression that I have a nostalgia bias, but I really don’t – I just LOVE the textures! Especially of tongue-and-groove siding, which is ubiquitous in the City’s older buildings.

But what of all that new construction, you ask? I collect images of that, also. Again, competitions give me motivations NOT to share too much of this work, but I’ll include a preview here. San Francisco’s newest buildings are crisp and new, with lots of sharp edges and fierce contrast in autumn light (which is when I have my best photo adventures).

I believe these will look great printed on aluminum. (I’ll find out next month!)
